Your first few minutes in Forza Horizon 6 make the starter pick feel like a big commitment, but it really isn't. Mei lets you choose one car for the drive to the festival, and the game quickly opens up from there. You'll still get all three in your garage, so there's no need to panic over missing out on useful FH6 Cars right at the start. The smarter way to look at this choice is simple: which car will make the first hour or two feel better for the way you drive.
Why the starter choice still mattersEven though the pick doesn't lock your progression, these aren't throwaway tutorial cars. Mei's versions come pre-tuned, and that matters more than it first seems. They feel stronger than the same models bought fresh from the autoshow, so selling them early is a mistake. Keep them parked, even if you move on fast. Later, when certain C Class events pop up, one of these tuned starters can still do real work without needing much extra cash or tweaking.
The safe pick for most playersThe Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 is the easiest car to recommend if you just want to get moving. It's AWD, stable, and quick enough for early road races without feeling twitchy. It also handles dirt better than you might expect, which helps when the game throws mixed surfaces at you before you've built a proper rally garage. It doesn't have the wild launch of the Jimmy or the sideways personality of the Silvia, but that's kind of the point. You make fewer mistakes, you restart fewer races, and you learn the map without fighting the car every corner.
When the Silvia or Jimmy makes more senseThe Nissan Silvia K's is for players who like a car that moves around under them. It's rear-wheel drive, lighter in feel, and much happier being steered with throttle than with tidy grip lines. If you enjoy drifting, street routes, or flowing corners, it's a fun start. Just don't expect it to forgive sloppy braking. The GMC Jimmy goes the other way. It's heavy, punchy, and built for rough ground. Its acceleration, torque, and off-road rating make it brilliant across open terrain, stunt routes, and messy shortcuts. On clean tarmac, though, it can feel like you're asking a fridge to dance.
How to think about your first few hoursPick the car that matches the driving you want to practise first. The Celica teaches clean lines and gives you confidence across road, dirt, and exploration. The Silvia pushes you toward throttle control, angle, and recovery when the rear steps out. The Jimmy rewards reading the terrain, carrying speed, and not overcorrecting when the surface gets rough. None of them blocks your progress, and you'll swap between them soon enough. As your garage grows and you start collecting more specialised Forza Horizon 6 Cars, these starters still have a place because their tuned setups give them more staying power than most new players expect.
